YA Thursday

Dream On (Silver Trilogy #2) by Kerstin Gier, translated by Anthea Bell (Henry Holt BYR hardcover, 3 May 2016).

In case you don't remember, in Dream a Little Dream, the first book in the series, Liv Silver's mother moved the family to London to live with her boyfriend Earnest Ernest and his family.

Liv is getting along pretty well with Ernest's son Grayson, but things are still prickly between her and Grayson's twin sister Florence.  Her budding relationship with Henry Harper is coming along nicely, and she's even made a girl friend at school.

But neither Liv nor Henry can stop Dreaming, and they're meeting a few unpleasant and frightening characters there.  Liv is certain that someone is following her as she explores the Dream World.

"Secrecy", an anonymous blogger at school, is somehow learning things that Liv would rather keep private.  It's no one's business how far she and Henry have gone physically!

Despite all the Dream and Secrecy drama, Liv still has to function at school, as well as at home, where Ernest's mother makes no secret of her dislike for the Silver family.

This is a thoroughly satisfying followup to Dream a LIttle Dream.  The plot moves along apace, keeping the reader turning pages to see what happens next.  Clear an afternoon to read this book, because you won't want to put it down.
